'Huge' factory fire closes school Crews tackle 'huge' factory blaze

A school has been evacuated after fire broke out in a nearby factory. About 100 firefighters have been tackling a huge blaze at a factory in Clackmannanshire.
Alva Academy in Clackmannanshire was evacuated, with many pupils taken to the town's Cochrane Hall after the fire took hold at the Benkert Factory. The fire broke out at the Benkert factory in Alva, which prints cigarette filter papers, at about 1200 GMT.
Locals described the fire as "huge" and Clackmannanshire Council said the school had been closed as a precautionary measure. Nearby Alva Academy was evacuated as a precautionary measure as, what locals described as, a "huge blaze" took hold. It will remain closed on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Police said there had been no reports of any injuries. A Central Scotland Police spokesman said there were no casualties and everyone had been accounted for.

As a result of the fire the A91 has been closed from Menstrie to Tillicoultry. Central Scotland Fire and Rescue said it had 100 firefighters and 11 appliances at the scene.
