Putin and Pezeshkian are also expected to sign the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, which the Kremlin described as a framework for the long-term development of bilateral relations between Russia and Iran. Pezeshkian was met in Moscow by a delegation of Russian officials, including Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko. Shortly after his arrival, the Iranian president took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a national memorial to soldiers who died in World War II.
