A 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of her one-year-old son at their home in Manchester. Detectives are continuing to question a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of the murder of her baby son in Manchester.
The boy was pronounced dead at Wythenshawe Hospital on Tuesday after officers were called to the house on Portlock Road, Baguley. Police were called to Portlock Road, Baguley, on Wednesday morning after reports of the death of a baby.
The toddler's mother is being questioned by detectives. The one-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.
The results of a post-mortem examination are due to be released later, said Greater Manchester Police. A post-mortem examination was carried out but the cause of his death could not be established, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said.
