Police are urging members of the public to stay away from the West Hoe area of Plymouth following a "serious assault". Police in Plymouth say they are searching for a suspect following a "serious assault" in the West Hoe area of the city.
According to reports, Devon and Cornwall Police said it was "dealing with a serious assault at the scene" and that "members of the public are being asked to stay away". Devon and Cornwall Police said its officers were called at 20:55 GMT on Wednesday evening after a person was found seriously injured on West Hoe Road. They were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Derriford Hospital.
Posts on social media suggest there is a major police operation under way in the city. The victim and their assailant are believed to know each other, the force added.
