Four lanes were initially shut on the southbound M1 between junction 13, for Bedford and Milton Keynes, and junction 12, for Flitwick in Bedfordshire, following the incident at about 09:00 GMT. All lanes have since reopened. | |
National Highways said the lorry had come to a rest sideways on the carriageway, and there were traffic officers and recovery vehicles at the scene. | |
It previously warned of delays on the approach to junction 13 of up to two hours and said a diversion route was in place. | |
