An 11-year-old was left shaken after he had a gun pointed at him in Portsmouth.

The boy was threatened by a teenager with the handgun as he crossed the railway bridge near Jacob's Ladder, Greetham Street.

Hampshire Constabulary said the incident happened at about 1650 GMT, on Monday, when a teenager pulled the gun from inside his jacket.

The gunman is described as having a tattoo under his right eye in red writing beginning with the letter M.

Pc Duncan Green said: "This is an extremely unusual incident and it is not yet known whether it was a real firearm.

"However, this has understandably left the young victim very shaken and frightened.

"Two males were seen to walk past just after the incident took place and they appeared to know the male with the gun."
