A former prison officer who had a baby with an inmate has been jailed for 30 months at Aylesbury Crown Court in Buckinghamshire. A former prison officer who had a baby with an inmate has been jailed for 30 months after pleading guilty to misconduct in a public office.
Kelly-Anne McDade, 30, who worked at HM Young Offenders' Institute, Aylesbury, pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office. Kelly-Anne McDade, 31, who worked at HM Young Offenders' Institute, in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, gave birth to a baby boy in February.
The offence took place between 1 February 2008 and 28 August 2008. It followed a relationship with Nelson Delgado, 21, described as a "dangerous offender", Aylesbury Crown Court heard.
She also admitted taking three mobile phones into a young offenders' institution on 17 March this year. Judge Christopher Tyrer described her behaviour "disgraceful".
When she originally appeared in court in October, Judge Christopher Tyrer described her crimes as "extremely serious offences". The court heard the offence took place between 1 February 2008 and 28 August 2008.
McDade also admitted taking three mobile phones into a young offenders' institution on 17 March this year.
