Version 0 of 1.

A jury has retired to consider its verdict in the trial of a man accused of raping a woman to re-enact elements of a murder he committed 22 years ago.

Mark Shirley, 39, of no fixed address, is accused of imprisoning the woman in her Bristol home and raping and sexually assaulting her with a knife.

He was jailed for life in 1987 for murdering Mary Wainwright, 67, in Cardiff, but freed on parole in 2003.

At Bristol Crown Court, he denies rape, false imprisonment and other charges.
