Reports said Peru had recalled its ambassador to Chile for talks. He also said he had cancelled planned talks with his Chilean counterpart, Michelle Bachelet, at the Apec summit.
Peru's Foreign Minister, Jose Garcia Belaunde, told Reuters their delegation to the Asia-Pacific summit in Singapore would be leaving early because of the latest row. "I am returning 24 hours earlier than scheduled so I can obtain complete and sufficient information (on the issue) and to be able to speak from Peru," Mr Garcia said, quoted by AFP new agency.
