The displays at Stevenage railway station warned of problems on the mainline between London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire

There are delays to rail services serving the capital after a person was hit by a train.

Passengers have been warned of delays between London, Cambridge and Peterborough.

A spokesperson from Thameslink Railway said "major disruptions" were expected until midday.

All running trains between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised, said the spokesperson.

Meanwhile, a fault with the signalling system at London Blackfriars means that fewer Thameslink services are able to run across the network.

The spokesperson added that trains might be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 20 minutes.
