A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, following the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell in south London. A 32-year-old man has been charged with murder after a teenage boy died in a shooting in south London.
Lathaniel died on Paradise Road, near Stockwell Tube station, on Tuesday afternoon. Omar Prempeh was charged with murder on Saturday following the fatal shooting of Lathaniel Burrell.
The Met Police said a 32-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Croydon and remained in custody. The 16-year-old, from Stockwell, died at the scene following the shooting on Paradise Road on Tuesday, 4 March.
Det Ch Insp Sarah Lee said: "We continue to appeal for anyone with information about Lathaniel's murder to please come forward and speak to us." Prempeh, of Stanstead Road, Forest Hill, is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday.
She added: "Our detectives are working hard to piece together the events of Tuesday afternoon and identify those responsible for killing Lathaniel." The Metropolitan Police said Lathaniel's family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
The 16-year-old's family is being supported by officers, the force said. People have been leaving flowers and lighting candles in memory of Lathaniel
Officers were called at 15:21 GMT to reports of a shooting and attended the scene with emergency service colleagues.
Medics from London's Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service treated Lathaniel at the scene, where he died.
