Motorists are being warned about a week of roadworks at an Aberdeenshire junction.

Resurfacing work on the A90 at the Badentoy junction, Porthlethen, is due to get under way on Monday evening, from 1930 GMT to 0630 GMT each day.

The £100,000 Transport Scotland-funded works will involve repairs to the A90 northbound carriageway, and resurfacing of both northbound slip roads.

Aberdeenshire Council will also do roundabout resurfacing work.

The work - weather permitting - will see diversions required at certain times, and a speed limit of 30mph will be in place.

Brian Gordon, BEAR Scotland operations director, said: "These essential works have been programmed with similar works being undertaken by Aberdeenshire Council, and are to be carried out overnight to minimise disruption to the travelling public.

"We would like to thank local residents and road users for their patience and ask that motorists plan their journeys carefully in advance using the Traffic Scotland website www.trafficscotland.org, in order to avoid delays."
