Two people have been taken to hospital after an aircraft crashed at an aerodrome. A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a plane crashed at an aerodrome.
The casualties were helped out of the aircraft after the crash which happened at about 17:30 BST at Barton Aerodrome in Eccles, Salford, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said. The plane, a light aircraft, came down at Barton Aerodrome in Salford, Greater Manchester, just before 17:30 BST.
Both casualties were taken to Salford Royal Hospital, it added. GMFRS said three fire engines attended the incident and were there for about an hour. Greater Manchester Police said a second man had suffered "potentially life-threatening injuries".
The BBC has contacted Greater Manchester Police. The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) said it was carrying out an "initial investigation".
The two men were rescued from the wreckage and taken to Salford Royal Hospital.

GMP said: "Emergency services are currently responding to a plane crash at Barton Aerodrome.
"Two men have been taken to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries and another with potentially life-changing injuries."
The force added: "A scene is in place whilst emergency service workers conduct their enquiries and people are asked to avoid the area."
Barton Aerodrome said the AAIB have been informed and are carrying out an investigation
Barton Aerodrome posted on its Facebook account: "Today at 17:07 an aircraft accident occurred within the Barton Aerodrome boundary.
"The AAIB have been informed and are carrying out an investigation.
"Our onsite Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS) attended the incident and have worked alongside external emergency services.
"The two persons on board the aircraft have been taken to hospital via road ambulance."
