Hertfordshire Police was called to Morrisons in Welwyn Garden City at 10:57 BST on Monday. | |
Officers were sent to Black Fan Road, along with the fire service and a bomb disposal team, and the area was cordoned off. | |
A police spokesperson said: "Authorities were satisfied that it was a World War Two bomb, and it was safely detonated at Holwell Hyde Fishing Lakes at around 15:00." | |
The store has since reopened. | |
