Three jailed for torture killing
(10 minutes later) | |
Three men have been jailed for their part in the murder of a 26-year-old man who was tortured with scissors before his body was dumped in a drain.
Alan Street was subjected to a sustained attack at a house in Padiham in December 2008. His body was found in a culvert in Accrington on 19 January.
Allan Palmer, 44, of Padiham, and Peter Leonard, 52, of no fixed address, must serve 25 and 28 years respectively.
Kieron Davison, 21, of Stockbridge Road, was jailed for eight years.
Rape conviction | |
He was cleared of murder but had admitted manslaughter.
Allan Palmer, of Stockbridge Road, and Davison, also of Stockbridge Road, took part in the attack in the mistaken belief that Mr Street was a paedophile.
Mr Street was convicted of rape in 1999 but there was no evidence he had abused children, the court was told.
The court heard Leonard, of Trinity Street, was a sworn enemy of Mr Street after he went out with his ex-girlfriend Jane Proctor in November 2004. |
