Two dead after three-car A9 crash

Two people have died after a three-car crash on the A9 in the Highlands.

The crash happened at Crubenmore, near Dalwhinnie in Inverness-shire, at about 1900 GMT on Thursday.

One man died at the scene and three other casualties were taken to Raigmore hospital in Inverness. One of them, a woman, later died.

Northern Constabulary closed the route temporarily for investigations. Road campaigners have made repeated calls for the A9 route to be made safer.
