Two held after suspicious death Pair charged with murdering man

A woman and a man have been arrested after the discovery of a 28-year-old man's body at a flat in Aberdeenshire. A man and woman have appeared in court charged with murdering Martyn Stewart in Peterhead.
Martyn Stewart was found in the premises on Peterhead's Maiden Street on Sunday. Mr Stewart, 28, was found in a flat in the Aberdeenshire town's Maiden Street on Sunday.
A 23-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident. They are due at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Tuesday. Elaine Young, 23, and Mark Junor, 33, both from Crimond, appeared in private at Peterhead Sheriff Court accused of murdering Mr Stewart.
Grampian Police said the death was being treated as suspicious. A report is being sent to the procurator fiscal. They both made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody. The case was continued for further examination.
Maiden Street, Love Lane and Errol Street were closed due to the inquiry. In a statement released through Grampian Police, Mr Stewart's family said he had been a "loving son, brother and uncle who will be missed greatly."
The statement said: "We are a close and supportive family who are all shocked by this sudden loss from our lives and the way in which it happened. It hasn't really hit home yet that he's gone.
"Martin was an animal lover and in particular loved dogs. We have been heartened by the many messages of sympathy and would like to thank everyone for their thoughts."
