Hammond awarded Children's Bafta

The awards, which celebrate the best in children's entertainment over the past year, also saw stop-motion animation Coraline win best film. Little Big Planet was named best video game, while Nick Jr beat CBBC, CBeebies and Cyw to take channel of the year. Veteran actor Bernard Cribbins collected the special award for outstanding creative contribution. Other winners at the London ceremony, hosted by presenters Dick and Dom, included The Penguins of Madagascar, which won the international award and S4C's Rhestr Nadolig Wil (Wil's Christmas List) for drama. Cribbens collected the special award for outstanding creative contribution Helen Blakeman won the writer award for her adaptation of the best-selling Jacqueline Wilson novel, Dustbin Baby. More than 400,000 children also voted in the Bafta Kid's Vote to name their top picks in entertainment. Miley Cyrus's adventures as Hannah Montana scooped prizes in both the feature film and television categories while Wii Sports Resort was voted best video game.
