A red Audi A1 which police believe was involved was found later in Huddersfield

A man has been left with serious leg injuries after being struck by a car and pinned to a wall in a "targeted assault".

The incident took place on Westbourne Road, in Huddersfield, at 19:55 BST on Friday, and the man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment.

West Yorkshire Police said a red Audi A1 car believed to have been involved was recovered in Huddersfield later in the evening.

A man, also aged in his 20s, has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in police custody for questioning.

Det Insp Catherine Shackleton said: "We are continuing to conduct a number of active inquiries into this incident which we are treating as a targeted assault in which a car was used as a weapon."
