Man charged with murder on island

A man has been charged with the murder of a 21-year-old man who died following a stabbing in Holyhead, Anglesey, early on Sunday, say police.

Scott Whitley, 29, from Holyhead, will appear before magistrates at Caernarfon on Tuesday.

He is accused of the murder of Leon Jones, from Tan yr Efail, Holyhead, who died in hospital after he was stabbed.

He is also accused of kidnapping, common assault and possession of a bladed article.

Another man who was also arrested on Sunday has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
