A 69-year-old-woman has been charged with murdering another woman who was found fatally stabbed in her home in Camden, north London. A woman has appeared in court charged with murdering her 69-year-old sister who was discovered stabbed inside her north London home.
Jennifer Abbott, also known as Sarah Steinberg, was found by her niece and neighbours at her home in Mornington Place on 13 June. The neighbour said she had been left with tape across her mouth. In a short hearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, Nancy Pexton, also 69, spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth.
Nancy Pexton, of Gloucester Place, Westminster has been charged with murder and is due to appear later at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, the Metropolitan Police said. Jennifer Abbott, also known as Sarah Steinberg, was found dead at her flat in Camden last Friday. She was discovered by her niece and neighbours, who broke her door down after her family had not heard from her for several days.
Detectives previously said the 69-year-old's death may have been linked to a diamond-encrusted Rolex watch that they believed was missing from the victim's address. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as sharp force trauma.
A post-mortem examination concluded Ms Abbott died as a result of sharp force trauma. It is understood Ms Pexton is nine months younger than Ms Abbott.
The force added that her family had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers. The Metropolitan Police previously said officers were investigating whether Ms Abbott's death was linked to a diamond-encrusted Rolex missing from her home.

Ms Abbott was a popular member of the community, according to the Met. Deputy District Judge Lee Marklew remanded the 69-year-old in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on 24 June.
She was often seen walking her corgi dog in the Camden area where she was last spotted on 10 June, three days before her body was found. He told her: "You will meet your barrister and will be given some advice in the coming weeks.
One of her neighbours, who did not want to be named, said Ms Abbott was "mysterious, and very smart and intelligent". "This is an administrative hearing. You will be remanded in custody until then."
"We would chat in the street most of the time. I used to walk around the block with her with her dog," she said.
"She had done a lot of things in her life. She was a doctor but she was also an actor and director in America. She'd directed a movie and I looked at it on YouTube and saw her interviewed in Los Angeles.
"She was a character, she was lovely," she said.
