Man quizzed over Bent abuse claim

A County Durham man has been questioned in connection with claims the mother of Sunderland striker Darren Bent was racially abused.

The incident is alleged to have taken place following the match against Wigan on Saturday.

On behalf of Greater Manchester Police, Northumbria Police arrested a Chester-le-Street man on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment.

The 26-year-old was released on bail until 12 January.
