A teenager has been charged with murder after a man was allegedly stabbed in an upmarket inner city Brisbane suburb during a house party. Distressed teenagers are being spoken to by police after a man’s fatal stabbing at a Brisbane house party packed with dozens of young people.
The boy, 15, is accused of attacking the 58-year-old at a large home in Clayfield on Thursday night. Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with murder after the 58-year-old’s body was found inside a large home in the upmarket inner-city suburb of Clayfield on Thursday night.
When Queensland police went to the house in the tree-lined street they found a large group of teenagers as well as the body. Officers responded to a call about 8.15pm on Thursday and arrived at a Clayfield residence hosting a party with “around 30” teenagers present, police said.
The man and boy were known to each other, police will allege. “I can confirm that there was a party under way at the house with a number of young persons,” Detective Acting Supt Craig Williams told reporters on Friday.
The boy was charged with one count of domestic violence-related murder and refused police bail to appear in a children’s court on Friday. Officers found the man’s body inside, but most of the teens were unaware of what had happened, he said.
