A large search of the area, including the River Tees, has been carried out involving the emergency services and mountain rescue. Mylo is believed to have gone with his friend to the River Tees, near to Ramsey Gardens, and entered the water, the force said.
The force asked members of the public to liaise with them directly and to not enter the water for their own safety. Assistant Chief Constable Dave Sutherland said officers had conducted extensive searches through the night to try and find Mylo and asked the public to keep away from the river.

"Instead, can I please ask you to speak directly to an officer at the scene."
