A number of roads in Nottingham city centre have reopened following a police investigation into a suspicious package. | |
Nottinghamshire Police had advised members of the public at 15:50 BST to avoid the Station Street, Canal Street, Middle Hill, Midland Train Station and Trent Street areas. | |
The force said in an updated statement at 17:30 that the roads had reopened. | |
A spokesperson said: "We would like thank the public for their patience and understanding while the incident was safely resolved." | |
Surrounding buildings were evacuated as a precaution, the force added. | |
Tram operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) had said there was no service between Old Market Square and Queens Walk in both directions. | |
Nottingham City Transport Navy Line and Orange line buses were accepting tram tickets and passes. | |
