A section of the M20 in Kent has been closed after a tractor fell from an overbridge during a crash, National Highways has said. A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a tractor fell off a bridge and on to the central reservation of the M20 in Kent following a crash.
Part of the road was closed in both directions shortly before midday on Monday. At 12:40 BST, National Highways said the M20 was shut in both directions between junction three, near Addington, and junction one, near Swanley. Kent Police said it was called at about 11:15 BST on Monday to a two-vehicle crash on the A227 overbridge near Wrotham.
Traffic information supplier Inrix said a lorry had been involved in the crash, while Kent Fire & Rescue Service said the incident involved two vehicles and crews had extracted one person. Part of the M20 was closed in both directions shortly before midday and at 12:40 National Highways said the road was shut in both directions between junction three, near Addington, and junction one, near Swanley.
