She said: "Hair straighteners heat up to temperatures perhaps of up to 210C. | |
"They can take up to 40 minutes to cool down so even if mothers or big sisters whoever is using the hair straightener has unplugged them as soon as they have used them, they can take a considerable amount of time to cool down. | |
"That's when doctors are reporting that many children are suffering injuries. | |
"They're either grabbing the hair straighteners with their hands or in some cases they're standing on them." |
