According to HSBC's service status website, customers can still access their accounts by phone and in-person, and card payments are unaffected. Five hours after the issue was reported by angry customers online, the bank now says the problem has been resolved.
"We're really sorry and are investigating as a matter of urgency," the bank said in a post on X. "We apologise to our customers who were impacted, and we'll continue to monitor systems closely," it told the BBC.
