Rescue teams searching for a shepherd who had been missing in the Highlands have found his body.

The 54-year-old was gathering sheep on Friday afternoon in the Newtonmore area when he was reported missing.

A search was launched and involved the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team, Sarda dogs and handlers, a Royal Air Force Sea King and local residents.

Northern Constabulary said his remains were found at the foot of Cairn A'Chailleach.

A spokesman said the man's name would not be released until next of kin have been informed and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal in Inverness.
