The force said the collisions were reported at about 21:50 and 23:10 on Thursday. The force is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a three-vehicle collision on the M5 near Willand after which a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police said the crash, near Junction 28 at about 21:50 on Thursday, involved a Vauxhall Zafira, a Ford Ka and a Porsche Boxster.
Officers said a second collision was reported near the same junction at about 23:10 on and more information would be released in "due course".
