A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the deaths of two children in Stafford, Staffordshire police have said. A girl and boy who were found dead in a home in Stafford have been named by Staffordshire police.
Police were called to a home in the town at about 7.30am on Sunday by West Midlands ambulance service. Meraj Ul Zahra, two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, three, were found unresponsive with injuries inside the home on Sunday morning, police said. They died at the scene.
Two children were pronounced dead at the scene, the force said.

The force has not yet confirmed the ages of the children. The incident was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), as is routine after earlier police contact.
An IOPC spokesperson said: “We were notified by Staffordshire police of the death of two children in Stafford on Sunday 12 October where there was recent police contact prior to their death.
“We understand a referral is being made by the force, which once received, we will assess before deciding whether further action may be required by us.”
