Mother denies murdering daughter

A woman accused of murdering her four-year-old daughter has denied the charge at Cardiff Crown Court.

Zoe David, 34, is accused of killing Zoe-Ann David at their home in Bideford Close, Newport, in June.

The child's body was found in a bedroom. A post-mortem examination gave strangulation as the cause of death.

Ms David's case was adjourned until 18 December. She was granted bail on the condition she resides at the Caswell Clinic in Bridgend.

She had previously been remanded in custody at the clinic for her own protection.
