Version 0 of 1.

A former BBC TV presenter who was jailed for two years for hitting a teenager with a pole has been told he cannot appeal against his sentence.

Ashley Blake, who presented Midlands Today, was jailed in September for wounding Greg Jones, 17, and intending to pervert the course of justice.

The Court of Appeal refused his leave to appeal against the sentence, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

His legal team have not appealed against the ruling made last month.

Denied the attack

Blake, 40, was sacked by the BBC following his conviction at Birmingham Crown Court.

He had denied attacking the teenager outside his Place 2 B bar in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, in January.

He was cleared of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

But was found guilty of unlawful wounding and attempting to pervert the course of justice
