Traffic warden injured in attack

A traffic warden has been injured in an attack in Coleraine.

At about 1700 GMT, the warden was near the top of Stone Row in the town when a man ran up behind him and hit him with an object.

The victim suffered a puncture wound to his back. His attacker ran away across a car park towards a pedestrian precinct.

He was described as being bald and was wearing a dark hooded coat and light-coloured jeans.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
