A 14-year-old boy from Cornwall has won a major radio award.

Ruari Bush entered the Sony Radio Award for Schools competition with his programme Vision which is broadcast on Roseland College's radio station.

The judges were looking for entertainment and information with an engaging presenter.

Despite his new-found success Ruari said his Radio Roseland show was just "for fun" and when he is older he wants to be an accountant.

He has scooped £750 worth of radio equipment for the school and has been invited to lunch at Sony's UK headquarters.

Radio Roseland was launched in September and broadcasts within the school grounds.

The college hopes that podcasts of student radio shows will soon be available to download from the school website and intranet.

A spokesman said: "Radio Roseland has become an important part of college life with many students putting together content to be broadcast throughout the day."
