Man hit by lorry in Armagh dies

It is understood the man was struck by a lorry in Barrack Street in the city centre at about 1700 GMT. The area remains cordoned off to traffic and police have advised motorists to avoid unnecessary journeys into the city centre. The victim is the 109th person to die on Northern Ireland's roads this year, exceeding the overall total for 2008. Police have appealed for anyone who was in the Barrack Street area on Wednesday and may have information to contact them. |
