At the High Court in Glasgow, Porter was jailed for nine years and four months and Stewart was jailed for three years and three months. Porter was jailed for nine years and four months and Stewart was jailed for three years and three months at the High Court in Glasgow.

Porter carried out the attack two days after being given probation for another assault.
George Stewart also played a part in the attack
Lord Turbull told Porter: "Shocking acts of violence are regularly described in these courts.
"However in more than 25 years of experience I have rarely heard of any act of violence which was so brutal, or so appalling in its nature, as the description I was given of what you did to Mr Janeczek.
"Very few people indeed would contemplate that a young man of 21 years could be capable of such extraordinary violence."
The judge added: "Your attempt to take the life of this man was only frustrated by the remarkable skill and dedication of the medical team who fought for eight hours of surgery to save Mr Janeczek from what you did to him."
