A Scottish Power spokesman said: "Electricity production from Longannet Power Station will continue as normal on Friday from three units following an isolated fire late on Thursday night.
"Routine safety procedures involving the station fire team and Fife Fire and Rescue Service completely extinguished the fire.
"There were no injuries and the cause of the incident is being investigated."
