Police search for stolen weapons

Police are searching for four air guns which were stolen from a parked car in Midlothian.

They were a plastic replica AK47 rifle, two metal rifles - one of which has a 12-inch barrel - and a gas operated air soft pistol.

They weapons were stolen from a locked car in Gibraltar Road, Dalkeith, on Friday night.

Officers said the guns could fire pellets which could potentially cause serious injury.

All of the stolen weapons were in a specially-designed black bags. Several small accessories were also taken.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "If anyone finds these weapons they should contact the police immediately and not attempt to handle the weapons due to the possibility of injuring themselves or others."
