Former Wales international footballer John Hartson is to return to his television job with a football show after being ill with cancer.

The ex-Arsenal and Celtic striker was diagnosed in July with testicular cancer that had spread to his brain.

But earlier in December he was told the cancer has been "virtually eradicated" from his body.

He is due to re-join the presenter and pundits on S4C's Welsh-language sport show Sgorio on Monday night.

He will work alongside presenter Nic Parry and fellow pundits Dai Davies and Iwan Roberts for the show which is broadcast on S4C at 2245 GMT.

Hartson said: "I'm really excited about returning to work with S4C and very much looking forward to a positive 2010.''

Presenter Nic Parry added: "I witnessed the pavilion crowd at the National Eisteddfod this summer rising to their feet at the mention of John's name - it was as if all Wales was wishing him well and I'm greatly looking forward to seeing him back on Sgorio."
