Version 0 of 1.

An appeal over plans to put new holiday huts at a site where previous huts were demolished after a lengthy rental row has been dismissed.

Dumfries and Galloway Council rejected the proposals at Rascarrel Bay in south west Scotland and that decision has now been backed by the Scottish government.

Old huts were demolished after landowners won a legal battle over a rise in annual fees paid by hutters.

The new huts were called inappropriate in "scale, nature and design".

A Scottish government reporter has ruled that plans for eight new huts should not go ahead.

He said that on some parts of the site they would look "significantly out of place" and in others would look "even more incongruous".

He concluded he could find no matters which could justify granting planning permission for a development which did not accord with development plans.
