A body which was found in the River Avon in Bath is that of missing Radstock man Casper Flagg, police have confirmed.

Divers recovered the 28-year-old's body near the Locksbrook sluice gates in Twerton on Saturday evening after it was spotted by a passer-by.

A post-mortem examination failed to determine the cause of death. Further tests are set to be carried out.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Results of toxicology tests are expected to take several weeks.

The graphic designer, who worked in Melksham, Wiltshire, went missing after leaving Moles club in George Street in the early hours of 29 November.

The alarm was raised after he failed to turn up the next day for his mother's birthday meal.

Police divers had conducted other searches of the River Avon in the city but the search had been called off over Christmas.

Detectives say they are keeping an open mind into Mr Flagg's death and are appealing for witnesses to piece together his last movements.
