Detectives investigating the murder of an 83-year-old woman have offered a £20,000 reward for information that helps catch her killer. Eveline Kelmenson died from hypothermia after being tied up during a robbery at her home in Stamford Hill, north London, in November last year. She was found dead, with her legs bound by duct tape, on New Year's Day. Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has information on her last movements. Ms Kelmenson, who never married, lived at the house for most of her life. She had lived alone since 2007 following the death of her sister. Det Ch Insp Stewart Hill said: "We are still very keen to identify any new witnesses or information which may progress our investigation further and hope the offer of this substantial reward will help." Police revealed that a gold chain Ms Kelmenson wore around her neck and a plain gold wedding band, which belonged to her grandmother, were both missing following the robbery. Four men were arrested in connection with the inquiry in January and March, but later released without charge. |
