Boy motorbike death inquest opens Bike boy was 'experienced rider'

An inquest has been opened and adjourned on a five-year-old boy who died following an accident on a child's motorcycle. The five-year-old boy killed in a motorcycling accident in Carmarthen was an experienced motorcycle rider, his family has said.
The boy has been named by Dyfed-Powys Police as Jake Alexander Wilson. He was from Carmarthen. Jake Alexander Wilson, who was from Carmarthen, died in hospital after he was injured on a child's motorbike at the town's cattlemarket ground.
He died at West Wales General Hospital following the incident at a cattle market ground in Carmarthen on Sunday. His family issued a statement saying he had won all three club championships in the Welsh grasstrack calendar in 2009.
The said Jake was a "beacon of joy" and he would "leave a great void".
A statement issued by Dyfed-Powys Police read: "Jake was a loveable, affectionate and fun loving boy who packed so much into his short life.
He will be remembered as a beacon of joy by everyone whose lives he touched Statement from Jake Wilson's family
"His family are struggling to come to terms with the tragic and heartbreaking loss of their youngest child."
The family said Jake would be greatly missed by all his family including his older brother and sister.

An inquest was opened and adjourned on Tuesday.

Following the tragedy, Dyfed-Powys Police said: "At 3.30hrs on Sunday 27 December 2009 police and ambulance were called to a report of a five-year-old boy having been seriously hurt whilst riding a child's motorcycle at the site of the Carmarthen Mart.

"The child later died from his injuries at West Wales General Hospital."
