Remand over 'snowball' stab death
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/wales/8434739.stm Version 0 of 1. A Denbighshire man has appeared at Mold Crown Court charged with murder, said to have followed a snowball fight on Christmas Eve. Anthony Finbar Burke, 20, sustained a stab wound in an incident near his home in Rhuddlan last Wednesday evening, and died later in hospital. Oliver Michael Taylor, 19, also from Rhuddlan, spoke only to confirm his name at the short hearing. He was remanded in custody until 26 February. There was no application for bail, and the prosecution team was given six weeks to serve Mr Taylor's defence with papers outlining their case. Judge John Rogers QC told Mr Taylor he would be asked to enter a plea to the murder charge when he returned to court in February. A provisional trial date was not set at Wednesday's hearing because the judge said that the availability of an appropriate judge was not yet known. |
