Police are investigating a complaint from reality TV show star Kerry Katona that she was stalked by a woman on the social networking website Facebook. The former Atomic Kitten singer raised the alarm when her online friend allegedly visited her Wilmslow home. Ms Katona, 29, was told by police investigating the matter to be more wary of privacy issues while using social networking websites. A spokesman for Merseyside Police said officers had spoken to "both parties". Harassment allegation "Merseyside Police is investigating an allegation of harassment made against a woman from Greater Manchester," the spokesman said. "The complainant has been given advice regarding maintaining personal security and privacy while using social networking websites and the other person has been advised over their future conduct on such sites. "A further allegation of harassment made by the same complainant has since been made to Merseyside Police and the officer in charge is currently investigating." It is understood Merseyside detectives are leading the inquiry as Ms Katona was in the area when she made the complaint. Ms Katona, who won ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2004, lives with her husband Mark Croft and her four children. In August she was dropped as the face of food firm Iceland after footage emerged of her snorting cocaine at her home. Ms Katona was cautioned by Cheshire Police for possessing a controlled substance. |
