There has been a gun attack on a police station in Crossmaglen, south Armagh.
Police said a number of shots were fired at the base at Cullaville Road at about 2300 GMT on Wednesday. There were no injuries.
The attack has been condemned by Sinn Fein councillor Terry Hearty, who said those responsible had nothing to offer but misery.
"They are totally divorced from republicans throughout Ireland and abroad," he said.
"We have seen a process of demilitarisation in south Armagh as a key part of the peace process. The British army was taken away from our community and their spy posts have been closed.
"Remilitarisation is what these groups want. They should not get what they want." |
