Murder inquiry into street death

A murder inquiry has been started after a man found with serious head and neck injuries in Greater Manchester died.

Police officers discovered the 32-year-old man lying in the street after being called to Back Bowness Road in Little Lever, Bolton.

They took him to Royal Bolton Hospital but he died a short time later.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish how he died. Police have not revealed his identity but said he came from Little Lever.

Anyone with information surrounding the man's injuries are asked to contact police.
