Man killed in two-vehicle crash Accident victim named by police

A 24-year-old man has been killed and five others injured in a serious car accident on Lewis. A man killed in a crash on the Isle of Lewis has been named by police.
The collision, involving two vehicles, happened on the main Stornoway to Harris road, at the Arnish Road end junction, at 0635 GMT. Colin Somerville, 24, from Stornoway, died when his Astra was in collision with an Audi on the A859 Stornoway to Tarbert road on Saturday morning.
Paramedics and doctors treated the casualties for neck, chest and abdominal injures. Several people were taken to the Western Isles Hospital. One has since been transferred to Glasgow but their injuries are not life-threatening.
They were taken to Western Isles Hospital in two ambulances for treatment. Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened near the Arnish road end at 0635 GMT.
Fuel leaked from one of the damaged cars and is covering the roadway. The cars involved were a black Vauxhall Astra and a grey Audi estate.
The main road between Stornoway Lochs and Harris will be shut for a number of hours until police accident investigators arrive on the island and examine the scene. The road reopened at about 1700 GMT.
