Gordon Brown has been named the worst-dressed man of the year by the British edition of men's magazine, GQ.

The prime minister topped the rankings for being "anything but a prime example of British style," the magazine said.

Others in the worst-dressed top 10 are Russell Brand, in second place, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, in third, and Peter Stringfellow, in tenth place.

Meanwhile actor Robert Pattinson, star of the Twilight films, topped the best-dressed list, which comes out Thursday.

Joining Mr Brown in the worst-dressed ranks are London Mayor Boris Johnson in fourth, the Top Gear team as joint fifth, Piers Morgan at sixth and the Match of the Day team in joint seventh.

Boris Johnson made the rankings for being "Charlie Chaplin... with a touch of Laurel and Hardy, more Hardy than Laurel," GQ said.

The magazine even deemed the prime minister worse-dressed than military-attired, reclusive North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il.
